7th July 2011 - Russell Richardson Appoints Shredding Sales Director
Independent secure commercial shredding company, Russell Richardson has appointed a new sales director, Mike Cluskey to drive forward the company’s total commercial waste and recycling proposition.
Responsible for a five strong team, Mike will utilise his 12 years sales experience to strategically increase the company’s sales revenue over the next five years by securing new clients and generating growth within existing accounts. With over four years as a key account manager at a national shredding company, Mike has a firm grasp of UK and European waste and recycling legislation and believes there are a number of misconceptions across the shredding industry that need to be addressed. He explains: “There is a vast amount of legislation that surrounds our industry, not least the Data Protection Act, however, the market continues to be defined by its by-product; waste.
“In reality Russell Richardson’s core function is to provide secure commercial waste destruction. Via a number of shredding services it helps companies to protect against corporate identity theft and breaches of the Data Protection Act. Therefore, I am passionate about the fact that commercial shredding needs to form part of a company’s overall security remit rather than its waste management. The team at Russell Richardson share this perspective and we hope to be able to re-educate businesses on taking responsibility for the disposal of all waste streams.”
At present Russell Richardson provides peace of mind with security-led shredding services for a mixture of clients nationwide, from SMEs to blue chip companies including the police force and solicitors firms. A founding member of the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID) Europe, Russell Richardson adheres to the strict security standards set in BS EN15713:2009, the European standard for the destruction of confidential information and operates to ISO9001:2008.
Jonathan Richardson, managing director, Russell Richardson, concludes: “As we are an independent business, Mike will become instrumental in our growth over the next few years and with his experience of the procurement processes in SMEs, blue chip companies and the public sector we are confident he will be a real asset. We have many long serving members of staff and we hope that Mike will become one of them.”
